RYA Yacht Master Coastal/Offshore - Theory - On line
An RYA Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence is a well-known, highly respected qualification worldwide, proving your experience and competence as a skipper. It signifies that a skipper is competent to skipper a cruising yacht on any passage during which the yacht is no more than 150 miles from harbour.
With the title of Yachtmaster Coastal ™ you can practice as a skipper on a sailboat up to 24 meters in length and 20 miles from the coast. To be able to access the course it is necessary to have sailed 30 days, 2 of which as skipper, 800 miles and 12 night hours.
With the title of Yachtmaster Offshore ™ you can practice as a skipper on a sailboat up to 200gt and 150 miles from the coast. To be able to access the course it is necessary to have sailed 50 days, 5 of which as skipper, 2,500 miles (half in tidal waters) and 2 nights.
