Advanced Wine Appreciation Level 2- Unit 13 - On class
A recognized wine course to provide extensive knowledge of the world of wine.
You will learn professional and practical sommelier service skills, along with knowledge of grape varietals, styles, and climatic influences terror, that allow you to recommend and guide guests through the wine list as well as create a wine menu. Also, principles of wine rotation and storage, learn to recommend for food pairing, wine tasting phases, and appreciation. Last, luxury protocol for wine service - a globally recognized International qualification.
Schedule: intensive session with our sommleier , 6 hours of self-study, class session + exam.
GUEST Advanced Wine Appreciation – Level 2
By the end of this course, you will be able to learn, understand, and communicate confidently about the world of wine using a shared, global wine vocabulary, while applying advanced service standards in luxury settings.
You will cover:
- A broad overview of the world of wine, including how wine is made and why styles differ globally
- Viticulture & winemaking fundamentals: from vineyard practices to production methods
- Terroir and how climate, soil, and geography influence wine style and quality
- Key international grape varieties and how they shape the world’s main wine styles
- The world’s most renowned wine regions, including Denominations of Origin and classification systems
- Understanding wine labels and learning how to present wine to the Guest and Owner with confidence
- Yacht Luxury protocol and service:
- opening a bottle correctly
- wine decanting
- luxury wine service standards
- advanced wine service skills
- Advanced food & wine pairing, with practical application to real-life onboard or hospitality scenarios
- Yacht Advanced wine storage: ideal conditions, preservation, and managing high-value bottles
- Yacht Wine lists: making your Wine list , structure, design, (styles, regions, terroir, grape varieties,) Owner wine preferences.
- Sparkling & fortified wines: understanding production processes and the principal styles

Requirements
- 18 years old and over
- Legal drinking age in the country attending the course
- English fluent
- Formal trainer (either GUEST Wine Appreciation Module 1 or WSET Level 1, International Guild Level 1, EIS Level1 or similar)

The training provided by International Luxury Training includes a Diploma Certificate is awarded by, the Guest Program- IAMI is a MCA accepted interior training International Luxury Training is member of PROFESSIONAL YACHTING ASSOCIATION. Methodology :
Students will have access to all the content of the course on the online platform 24/7. During the course and combining with self study on the platform the student will attend on class sessions at Barcelona Crew Academy , with our expert teacher, the course focuses on practical experience using a range of quality equipment with of practical demonstrations by applying skills.
Assessment :
Assessment Criteria is achieved through the assessment process of practical demonstrations by applying skills, supported by Assessments through final exam and assignments testing.
This course taught by Barcelona Crew Academy does not include a Diploma. The fee per diploma is 28,00€
